Spanish "Star Spangled Banner"

I hear some people are upset that a Spanish version of the National Anthem has come out. I believe this is a very limited viewpoint and really anti-American.

If our country is suppose to be about Freedom, than anyone can sing the anthem in any language they like. To limit the language is like limiting Freedom, at least in my opinion. How can we say we are a free nation when limits are placed on things?

Many argue that people who live here should learn the language. That is true. But should they give up everything of their culture? America is strong because of its diversity. Should Irish-Americans give up St. Patrick's Day?

No one associated with the Spanish anthem has said that it is meant to keep anyone from learning English. The intent was to help Spanish-speaking people to understand the ideas of our country better, to help them appreciate our flag, our fight for Freedom.

Next thing you know, the people trying to force a language on people will want to force other ideas like religion on everyone. To me, America is about living how you want to live. To try to take that away goes against everything this country is about.
